Cyber security and data security are now among the most important foundations for reliable plant operation. This is because security risks often arise where software has not been updated for a long time. After all, everything seems to be running smoothly …
The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) recently highlighted security-related vulnerabilities in older software and database components: This vulnerability was only discovered a short while ago. Technologies used in earlier versions of our Prosys process control system are also affected: When the system was developed, these security issues were not yet known.
✅ The good news: Demig has already closed the potential security gap.
The vulnerability was analysed, assessed and immediately and completely closed. Prosys 7.6.6 contains the necessary security fix!
This is what matters to us in this incident: security gaps in third-party software cannot be completely avoided. What counts is the ability to detect them as early as possible, communicate responsibly and act swiftly. That is precisely our commitment.
To ensure you benefit from the solution, we strongly recommend that anyone using older versions of Prosys install the update as soon as possible. We are not aware of any incidents so far, but as the vulnerability becomes more widely known, the risk increases.
🚀 Our tip: Prosys as „Software as a Service“
To ensure you can respond quickly to such issues, we recommend “Software as a Service” (SaaS). We offer our current version of Prosys as a SaaS model. This gives you automatic security updates, new features and dedicated support, without any IT overhead on your part.
📞 Get in touch: We’d be happy to advise you on the update or the right SaaS package.
